How To Bring Home $40 On A Rainy Day

$40 on a rainy day

“How To Bring Home $40 On A Rainy Day”

Today was day 2 of my 2 day weekend and my wife and I were discussing our future this morning.  We live in a 2 bedroom townhouse, and we have 2 kids, a boy and a girl.  They are going to need their own rooms in the future, so my wife and I were breaking down what we need to do to get into a bigger house.

Part of my responsibility is to get out of credit card debt.  So far I’ve paid it off by $2,000 but I still have another $15,000 to go.  When my wife and I were finished discussing the house, I decided I could wait no longer to take some kind of action to move us closer to that new home.  I went out to Doordash, and it was busy.

No sooner did I arrive at the Annapolis mall, at the Cheesecake Factory (a Doordash hotspot) did I get my first order.  I had four orders in two and a half hours and brought in over $40.  I did use $10 in gas, so after expenses I brought in $30.

I could have gone for longer, the orders were still coming in.  Next time, I won’t make the mistake of ending the dash early.  Today was Sunday, and the weekends are big with Doordash, so next time I’m going to maximize and work longer, harder hours.  Not that doing Doordash is hard.  It’s not, it’s actually pretty simple.

Today the orders came in to go to Subway, Miss Shirley’s, Firehouse Subs, and KFC.  Those were my 4 deliveries.  At all of them except for Miss Shirley’s I used the red card Doordash supplied me with to pay for the food.  When you go in to use the red card, you place the order yourself, at the direction of the Doordash app, and you pay with their money.  The only out of pocket expense you have is gas.  When it comes to making some extra money, Doordash is the best way I’ve found without having to pick up work at a brick and mortar business.

Doordash doesn’t pay a lot, but it does pay and I make about as much on a busy day working Doordash as I do at my part time job.  Not that I would leave my part time job to do Doordash full time, because I’m getting a steady paycheck that I’ve been pulling in for over 2 years now.  That can stay right where it is, it’s going to help me pay off my credit card bill and get into a bigger house.  But doing the Doordashing on top of my part time job is going to be a tremendous help in getting me out of debt quickly.  I’m going to develop a laser focus on zero debt and work 7 days a week until I get there (hopefully).  When I’m not working I’m going to be working.  When I’m sleeping I’m going to be working.  When I’m eating I’m going to be working.  When I’m vaping I’m going to be working.  I’m going to be earning income 24/7.  This website your on right now is going to help me earn when I’m not directly working, hence I will be working 24/7, thanks to the power of blogging, the internet, and Google.

Right now I’m drinking lemonade instead of wine and I’m vaping instead of smoking cigarettes.  Those are the sacrifices I’m making so I can get out of debt faster.  One of the books I’m reading right now is “The Total Money Makeover” and the slogan of the book is “Live like no one else, so later you can live like no one else.”  I think of that slogan as I sacrifice alcohol and cigarettes.

Another thing I’m doing for extra money is writing on Textbroker.com.  I want to get my rating up so I get paid more per article, but that is a work in progress.  For now I bring in a few quarters for every piece, but it’s better than nothing and helps me refine my writing craft.  I get paid for writing by my blog and by Textbroker.  So far my writing income is only trickling in, but seeing some money come in is motivating and moves me forward with the writing in a more positive way.  I also like that when it comes to my blog it’s on 24/7.  I could earn money from it at any time.  I love writing so earning money off it is great for me, even if right now it’s not a lot.

Writing is creative work and I get to use my mind to work.  I’ve read in a prosperity book that working with your mind has the potential to pay you a lot more than working with your hands, so I’m going to keep working it to see if that will hold true for me.  I certainly hope it does.

Now that I’m done Doordashing for the day and I’ve made my $40 on a rainy day, I’m home and ready to write.  Writing is paying me something and that something I hope is going to turn into a lot and help me to get out of debt quickly.  Although I’m not going to rely on my painfully slow coming income from writing to get out of debt.  I’m going to work more on the things that are paying me more money like my part time job (which on some weeks is more like a full time job) and Doordash.  If I put the time into Doordash that I put into this website that would be a big chunk (if not the whole thing) off my credit card.  In other words, don’t expect my sole focus to be on writing at this point.

Although if the personal development works and I stop drinking then I have more energy at home and I might want to work on this blog even after my job and then Doordash.  I do afterall have a laser focus on paying off my debt.  I do like the sound of daily massive action.  I think I’ll probably end up doing the whole thing with a smile on my face.  I think I will and I’ll further do it with prosperous thoughts.

I like to keep my affirmations simple when I’m saying them to myself.  One affirmation I was just using was simply “I am prosperous”.  After you’ve just made $40 out of the blue you do feel prosperous.  I had no plans to make any money today when I woke up.  By 12:30 I was out the door to go to work!

When I was out there today it was busy.  I did have about 10 minutes in between my 2nd and 3rd order where I read a “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity” by Catherine Ponder.  It was cool when it got me thinking prosperous affirmations and then shortly into reading the book there was another order.  I think if I can maintain a prosperous thinking while doing Doordash, I’ll have better results.

Here’s a tip for you if you want to do Doordash in your town.

Because seeing the Doordash customer is a wham bam thank you sir or maim thing, you only have the chance to say a couple sentences.  I usually start by saying hi, and after I give them their food I tell them thanks for ordering and (my favorite part) ENJOY your food.

That’s another thing I like about Doordash.  We are delivering food.  As human beings we need food to live, so by doing Doordash, you are helping people to live and getting paid for it.  It’s a nice way to exchange service for money.  Really, you could look at it as fulfilling work.  I have to admit I like feeding people, as my day job is at a restaurant and it feels good when you make food people enjoy.  Really, when I think about it, I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s.  I live a rocking life and everyday I love my life more and more.  Makes me think about how much time I really have left, and only God knows that.  I could be gone tomorrow, I could last for another 6 decades.  I hope I last.  I hope that we all last.

I know some people don’t last.  Not everyone can last.  That doesn’t mean we have to think we won’t last.  The opposite is true.  We have to think we will last.  At least that way it gives us a fighting chance out there in the world, and we can get out of God’s way and let His miraculous plan work out in our lives.  We don’t have time to entertain negative thoughts.  At least I don’t.

I don’t really watch the news because of all the fear it creates.  In my opinion, the news creates a distrust among people, and that distrust is bad for business.  I realize that bad things do happen but that shouldn’t make us trust our fellow citizens any less.  I have had to recuperate my trust in humanity because of some of the people I have been in contact with.  Getting ripped off can happen to anyone.  Once I even had my car door slammed against my leg by a thug who wanted to steal my engraved lighter.  That doesn’t mean I don’t still talk to the people who bum cigarettes off me.  God wanted me to have that experience, and if he wants me to have it again then it’s going to happen.  If he wants me to use the shield he’s given me, then I’ll use the shield.  If he wants me to use the sword he’s given me… that’s for another post.

I will say that it was sweet to not expect to make any income, and then make some.  Especially on a rainy day.  Doordash was good to me today, and I have ambitions to have my first $100 day this month.  Things were going good, and then they got better.  Do you think that Doordash could have a positive impact on your own life?  Would you like to at least try it and see how you like it?

If you like the idea of Doordashing for extra income and would like to read my stories about my own experiences (you can leave comments on this blog about your own experiences and we can talk) then bookmark this website and check back every once in a while and read what’s new.  Or you could do one better and sign up for my email list.  On top of the new and best posts, you’ll also get a free eBook to give you something to read.  Stay on my list and you’ll have a front row seat in my progress on prosperity.  Getting out of debt and into a new house. Ending up a millionaire.  Who knows where it’s going to come from, but my story here on this blog is about the action, the chase, and cashing in.  It’s also about exponential increases.  If that sounds like your sort of thing (things I’ve actually done), consider subscribing.

Maybe if you decide to try Doordash, bring a book on prosperity with you to read in the down time (if there is any).  When you dash, you have to have orders to get paid, and it feels good when your thinking prosperously and then you get an order.

One of the benefits of Doordash is that you don’t have to wait years to get paid like you do with blogging.  On top of that, I’ve earned a lot more with Doordash than I have off the ads on this site.  That doesn’t mean this won’t change.  What it does mean is that when I play it smart, I’ll invest my time into the things that are paying me the most money, and then work business like hobbies when I’m not with the wife and kids.  I don’t want to be that far away from my family.  I have a debt to repay, yes.  But I can pay that debt and still spend time with my children when I’m not working.

On top of that I still find the time to write, which COULD end up paying me more than all my other jobs combined.  The thing is I really enjoy writing.  Even though my blog has paid me the least for the most work, I enjoy keeping it.  It’s a labor of love.  I love writing and blogging.  I love the written word.  I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.  Just the potential of that happening is enough for me to do the work and enjoy it.  It’s really a beautiful process even without the money.

And I have to be honest, I’m not even considering the money it would take to take blogging into a full time profession.  Not right now.  I’m doing it purely for the sake of taking action on creating my dream life.  How do you think you would feel if you wanted to be a writer and then you started writing?  How do you think you would feel if you started a collection of public writings on a blog?  Would you be scared?  Would you be excited?  Would you be thrilled?

I can tell you there’s nothing like doing it.  Maybe something will come from it, maybe something won’t.  But at least give it ten years before you decide whether you want to keep doing it or not.  By that time you should have a pretty good grip on blogging mastery, no matter what pace your going.  10 years is 10 years.  A decade of your life spent working your best on something.  That is a respectable amount of time to be writing in public.  Money aside, think of the sheer personal (and perhaps even professional) development you’d experience if you made that commitment.  I can tell you with two years experience blogging that I’ve definitely grown personally and even professionally over the course of that time. I believe a major reason I’m doing well right now is because I’ve been recording my learning experiences and my successes here on this blog.   Your blog can be a tool to help you increase your personal and professional (income) development.

That’s my post for today, and again, I hope you enjoyed it.

Why Writing Is An Art

Writing and Art

Write like your life depends on it!

Writing is an art for the main reason that it’s your brain creating something.  Even if you make it up as you go, you are still creating something.  Your master plan will be revealed, so that you can make your millions, and live your life happily.  As long as you blog.

Oh yes! Writing is where it’s at.  There is a power in words (although you should take that with a grain of salt) and you can use your words to shape your life.  Some things will work, some things will not.  You’ll never know until you try.

If you’re a writer you’ll probably be excited at the idea of making money with your writing.  I can tell you that you really don’t need to do much other than write a bunch of posts and put Adsense up on your site.  The pennies will start coming in.  It’s free to join, as long as you have a blog, you can set it up.  And there is no time limit for how many clicks you need to get to make your first money.

The beauty of this is that your earning can exponentially grow with each day.  It took me about 3 months to make 50 cents.  Just last week I had a day where I made $5.02 in that single day.  Talk about percentage increases.  Just imagine what you could do if you made $100 in a single day off adsense.  If you could do it everyday, you be making a part time income.  When your writing is an art, making a part time income off it is a blessing.

But I’m not making $100 a day.  I’ve had a good day where I made $5 off of doing no more work, and it was all off my art.  If you want to do that, I’m your man.  And it’s only going to get bigger from here.

I have a Convertkit business in the works.  I’m going to switch domain names.  Take all the stuff about the schizophrenia out.  Just have a strictly business blog.  And sell Convertkit.  See if God will allow me to have that.  He’s allowed me an Adsense income.  I think I’ll have better luck on a new domain.

With blogging, maybe you’ll have an income, maybe you won’t, but you do it more for the action of writing.  Writing your art in a public place.  You might rub off on people, and I mean in the best way possible.  Your influence could grow.   Really there is nothing stopping you but yourself.  Take action now and write your next blog post.

So I’m going to make this website about personal development, the law of attraction, and affirmations, along with whatever else I want to write.

Here are some affirmations for a professional blogger.  Feel free to use these examples and craft your own.  I have read that making affirmations your own increases their power.

  1. I am swimming in money from my blog.
  2. I make $4,000 a month from blogging and I’m moving my family into a bigger house.
  3. I will be debt free.
  4. This has the makings of a beautiful story.
  5. My art prospers me now.
  6. I have my home office.
  7. My home office is clean and my vision board is clear.
  8. I keep up on the housework.
  9. I do things with my family.
  10. I work my part time job, but I don’t have to, it’s just extra income.
  11.  I love my life.
  12. I have all the money I need.
  13. I help other people get all the money they need.
  14. I help a lot of people.
  15. Writing is art, and I feel good about my pursuit.
  16. My perfect business is coming to me now.
  17. I perfect the art the writing.
  18. I now have all the money I need.
  19. I prosper in all things that I do, especially writing.
  20. I am a best selling author.

I hope this post and these affirmations helped you.  Thanks, and God Bless.

Have You Ever Thought Of Starting Your Own Business?

Have you ever thought of starting your own business?

It’s done!

(Note:  There is affiliate links that if you click on and buy thru, I will get paid.  This comes at no extra charge to you.)

Have you?

I know I have.

I best I can come up with at this point is a Convertkit business.

They pay you $8 a month for every new person you sign up.  If you buy Convertkit from me, I will hope for your success with it.  The beautiful thing about having a list is that you can sell them anything you want.  Be it an eBook, music, or poetry.  Artists can have a list and make their living off of it.  Have you ever thought of starting a business off your art?

You can do it with Convertkit.  One of the nice things about it is when you send out a broadcast, it tells you how many people open the email.  It also tells you how many people click on the link.  When you are trying to make a living off of your online work, you’ll be working all the time to plant as many seeds as you can, and to make the most of each planting.

I really believe I can make money online.  I really believe I can help people.  I believe you can help people too.  Together we can create an unstoppable money making machine.  Convertkit is one of the products that is the foundation of our online business.  If you’re like me and want to sell the business to others, you can go ahead and market a Convertkit business just like I am.  Go and find your people that want to start their own businesses.  I know my 500 Convertkit customers are out there and that would give me a $4,000 a month income.  Enough to retire from my job happily.  Although I might quit at $1,000 a month and go full time on the blog and see what I can really do with it.  The latter is more likely the outcome.  How much I end up making is in God’s department, but I am praying for sales.

You should pray for sales too.  Why not?  It’s not a bad thing to wish for more good to come into your life.  I wish it for you, why not wish it for yourself.  If you’re going to be doing the work of blogging, you may as well imagine success with it.  Why think yourself a failure?  Leave it up to God.

That’s not to say you should just wish for success.  You should imagine yourself a success and then work everyday to attain that success you imagine.  I imagine having 112 Convertkit buyers that I refer and having a $1,000 a month income just from Convertkit.  I imagine that for you as well.

I also imagine for you that you will be better than me at selling Convertkit.  I’ve been selling it for a few months now and I am still working for my first sale.  You might be able to get your first sale in your first week.  I want you to surpass me in earnings one day.  That way the student does better with their life than the teacher did in his life.  I believe that is the sign of a good teacher.

So go ahead, click on the Convertkit link and buy your list.  When you’ve outdone me and you, you’ll be happy I signed you up.

Cheers!

What It Feels Like To Sell Convertkit

What I want is to sell Convertkit for a living.

That along with hosting.

So far all I have up for sale is the Convertkit.

I wanted to tell you what it feels like to sell it, when your trying to sell it for a living.

The thing about selling an email list provider, is that you help people start businesses.  You can feel proud that everyday, you help people get what they need to go into business for themselves.  It’s beautiful.

When you are trying to make your money online, in a work from home business, there’s no cheaper way that to buy an email list and then resell that email list to your potential customers.  I don’t spend a lot of money maintaining my business, but I still have a business and I’m still working to make it better everyday.  Selling Convertkit is really a dream come true, as they pay monthly, for every member you have.

The way I look at it is, you’ve got to do the work.  You’ve got to be the farmer and plant all the seeds you can.  The more seeds you plant, the more potential for a great harvest.  That is, if God gives you anything at all.

It could be that you work and work and never get paid.

That is not my intention, and it shouldn’t be yours either.  We should shoot to quadruple our monthly incomes with blogging.  You gotta figure, if you can make $1,000 a month working a part time job, you must be able to make at least 4 times that much when you cut out the owner and all the profits he takes.

In other words, when you are the boss, your the one making all the money.

How it feels to sell Convertkit is that I’m doing the right thing.  It’s not easy, especially with the big players like Pat Flynn doing the same thing.  I have a hard time competing.  Still, I feel there is a market for my work so I’m just going to keep working publicly and see what happens.

It feels good to serve Convertkit to people.  It feels good just asking them to join.  It takes work, and trial and error, but I have found that it’s part of God’s plan for me, so I’m making the most of it.  I hope that doesn’t scare you.

I just wanted to let you know that I’m selling Convertkit for a living and I’m failing miserably but I’m going to continue on until I reach the promised land.

Thank You, and God Bless,

Jesse Creel

I keep updating the headline and the tagline to this site.  I just started the habit of looking at the headline and tagline before starting a post.  With the headline and the tagline in mind, I’m going to write these posts.

This post is designed to help you grow.  Both personally and professionally.  It’s also designed to show you that blogging is the best way to grow personally and professionally.  Let me show you.

(Note:  There is an affiliate link in this post that if you buy, I will get paid.  This comes at no extra cost to you. )

2 Years Experience Blogging

I’ve been blogging here at JesseCreel.com for 2 years now.  I’ll admit, at first I was blogging about triumphs over personal problems like schizophrenia.  I think that can be a little scary for Google to embrace, as I had trouble getting Adsense on my site in the early stages.  I wasn’t approved.  I tried again, after making my site about the business of blogging, with lots of fresh posts about email marketing and how literally anyone could get in the game and build a work from home business.  I had success and was approved for Adsense.

Adsense is my only form of monetization for this site, as of 5/20/2018.  I definitely have plans to expand into other forms of monetization but for now I’m just writing for practice.  I want to further hone my craft.  I’ve already written 143 posts, some of them good length posts.  Really, I have to do a lot better than 143 if I really want to get my writing up to speed.  Makes me think I really should be blogging daily.  Admittedly, my speed is slow.

I do however get the work done.  Week by week.  I’m going to get my post count up and then see where my Adsense earning are.  I plan to do a post when I get my first payout of $100.  It’s really too early  to predict where my lifetime blog earnings are going to land.  I’m will say though that I’m going to plant the seeds on the internet, and let God take care of the rest.

I have 2 years experience blogging, and I can tell you it’s been a slow ride.  If you are a blogger you know what I’m talking about.  All you can do is hone your craft and pray something sticks.  I can tell you how to do it slowly.

10 Thick Spiral Bound Notebooks Filled

I am almost at a completed 10 journals.  At 300 pages per journal that’s 3,000 pages of journal entries.  You could say I’ve been practicing for years.  A lot of it is about personal development.  It’s about quitting smoking and drinking.  It’s about exercising.  It’s about building a business.  It’s about personal struggles with questions on how I can solve the problems.  So far it’s landed me an income of over $1,000 a month.  That’s after taxes.  My personal development is working for me.  It’s an even more powerful statement when you consider that I’m a schizophrenic who has held a part time job for over 2 years now.  I’m working, I’m paying taxes, contributing to society, raising a family (with the help of my darling wife), I’m journaling my personal development, I’m blogging, I’m playing rock and roll blues songs, I’m writing poetry, and I’m keeping up with the housework.  I do all these things and I pay my credit card bill down slowly over time.  After the credit card bill I will be working on the mortgage and time keeps ticking and I still don’t have a 401K plan for my retirement.  I’m not worried because I’m not the one in control.  God is in control.  If I make righteous choices God is going to take care of me.  Not to mention my family of a wife and two kids.  Not to mention the rest of my family like parents, brother, and inlaws.  Not to mention my friends and the rest of the world.

Sometimes my blog posts get into talking like I was talking to the Lord, and I’m not going to run from me.

I’ve written all kinds of letters to myself and to God.  I have a relationship with God.  It’s in my journals.

I’ve written 10 journals so far and I’m still writing today.  Just the sheer volume of work speaks.  I love the directions it takes me.

Why Blogging?

So I’ve written all these journals.  Why not just keep journaling and hone the craft of writing that way?

I’ll tell you.  It’s because it’s not public.

When it’s out in the public something changes.  You change.  And you change more than if you were keeping it all to yourself.  You learn to not just write for yourself, but to write for an audience.  You start asking yourself the questions “what problems can I solve for my audience?” and “What are my audience’s pain points?”.

Then you come up with a solution that will help your audience.

For me my audience is people who want to develop personally and professionally, especially when they are facing other challenges in their life that have nothing to do with work.  When a schizophrenic can make over $1,000 a month every month for 2 years running he’s doing something good, and you might be able to learn something.

But with my job I’ve only just begun.  The job is just a springboard for the blog, giving me what I need every month to maintain a business, keep my doors open, and plant seeds regularly in the hopes for a harvest.  I realize earning an income from blogging takes time, and that’s all right with me.  I am in it for the long haul and plan to do it for as long as 10 years to get it right.  To take it a step further, as long as no one stops me, I’m going to be living and blogging to 100.  In other words my work is in it’s infancy and I’ve already made more than half a dollar.  Just imagine what my (and your) blog could look like in 10 years if we’ve stuck with it regularly.  It could be an empire of posts!  Wouldn’t it feel good to know you’ve accomplished massive public works that potentially the whole world could see and learn from.  Wouldn’t it make you feel good that you did that?  I revel in my 2 years of blogging, my $.58, my 143 posts, and my 400 visitors a month.  Now I just work to better my results.

It’s incredibly fun blogging.  Seeing the results and adjusting your efforts so that they become more of what you want.  YOU become more of what you want to be.  That’s the power of blogging.  You become more of you and you want to do it your way, don’t you?

So blog.

If you want to take it the next logical step and build a business then:

Build An Email List

If you’ve done any research at all into how to make money with a blog then you’ll already know that “the money is in the list”.  By people giving you their email address you are getting intimate access to them.  They want more of what you have.  They are your potential customers.  If you want to make money with your blog you are going to have to have customers. The best way to get in touch with potential customers is to collect their email addresses and mail them your work and your offers.  On that note, it’s never to early to sell to them.  I only have 18 subscribers as of today and I’m already selling to them.  It’s good practice for when you have a bigger list with more potential buyers.  It’s good to get comfortable with potentially collecting money from your list.  A good way to do that is to start selling.

Again my blog is in it’s infancy, and I’m really only selling one affiliate product at this point.  It’s an email list provider called Convertkit.  When you have a blog and want to start an email list, I’m your man.  Apart from the service itself, I have found Convertkit to have a helpful blog, and that the extra bonuses they offer members really goes the extra mile to help you convert your subscribers into raving super customers.

If you want to talk about growing, growing an email list is a very exciting (although slow in the beginning) adventure.  Nurturing your list is also exciting as you get to further your people and sales skills and potentially increase your income.  This also goes with furthering your ability to solve problems for your audience, really the most important part in the equation of earning money with your blog.

As you build an email list you grow personally and professionally.  You refine your personal life so you get better results in your professional life.  You build your list and then nurture a relationship with them.  When your blogging, the older you get, the better your blog becomes.  It’s fulfilling when you know that the post you send your list today is going to be better then the post you sent out a week ago.   Not to mention that all this personal and professional development could lead to the lifestyle you want to live.  I know that so far for me, personal development has taken me leaps and bounds further along the road to success, and there is no end in sight.  Don’t you want a business in your life where the sun never sets?

How To Make 58 Cents

Jesse Creel is a Genius

Something is better than nothing.

( There is a Convertkit affiliate link in this post.  If you buy I’ll make money, at no extra cost to you.)

Yes, I did it.

I made money with my blog.

Granted it’s only half a dollar.

I can tell you exactly how I did it, and it will become obvious that in the beginning of making money blogging it’s a labor of love.

Because that’s where I am in the stages of making money blogging.  The very painful beginning.  If you would like to support me you can do so by signing up for a Convertkit membership and building your own business.  That would be a huge victory for me and one that I’ve waited a very long time for.

But enough with the handouts.  I want to work for your money.  I’ll be unapologetic for earning your money, but at the same time I’ll be doing my best to be of value to you and enhance your life.  You can believe me when I tell you I enhance my wife and two kid’s lives.  Those are the most important people in the world to me, so I start there and I expand my reach to you good folks of the internet.

What’s the value here?  What can you get out of this that is going to expand your life?  It’s that you can do your creative work and get paid fifty cents for it.  You have monetized your efforts.  People care about what you think.

50 cents is only the beginning.  From there you can make dollars, and fives, and tens, and twenties.  Then hundreds.  Then thousands.  Then tens of thousands, then hundreds of tens of thousands, then millions.  That’s the logical progression when your doing what you know you need to be doing.

So I already have a blogging income.  The vision is to expand that into 7 different income streams and pull in a million dollars a year.  I’m a long ways off, but I know I can do it, so I’m working everyday to become a more successful content marketer.

And what I’m marketing is a Convertkit business.  The act of you getting paid for people to start businesses of their own.  Where they do the work of creating their own business, while you do the work of creating yours.

I don’t think a professional blog could ever get you fired from your job, so it’s safe to do when your working.  This way you can pay the bills while your blogging income gets up and running.

I’m telling you this marketing thing is amazing.  You could sell anything you want.  Whatever you believe in.  You get to pick your product with your blog.  It couldn’t be better because you are in charge.  You are your own boss.  I jump for joy when I make $.58 like I just made my first $1,000 a month income.  I am incredibly grateful for the money.  I feel like I’ve pleased God.  And I want to please God, and You even more and earn even more money.

So here goes, here’s the value.  If you can write, you can make money on the internet.  That’s the value.  If you have a brain you can make money on the internet with your own self hosted blog.  I hope the repetition serves you here.  Think of it as affirmations.

Read my stuff and you’ll transform into a writer who makes money off his words.  That’s my message.  I’ve made other money off my writing besides the Adsense money.  In fact I’ve made a lot more off Textbroker.com than I have off my blog.  Doing freelance writing.  Maybe I should be spending my time on Textbroker.com instead of writing this blog that isn’t really paying me anything.  Not that textbroker.com pays a lot, it’s only a few dollars, and I make exponentially more at my job.  Still, I like doing things, and one of those things I like doing is getting paid for writing.

That’s it for this post.  If you want to make 50 cents off your blog, just write 100+ articles and put adsense on your site.  You’ll have it in a few weeks.  Just think where you’ll be able to take it from there.  Think big and think millions.

A Low Cost Business Model So You Can Escape The 9-5

A big help.

Imagine this being your monthly blogging income…

Note:  There are affiliate links in this post that if you purchase, I will get paid.  This goes without any extra charge to you.

You may be thinking that you want to start a business so you can quit your job and have more time and money to do fun things with your family.  If that’s the case this is the post for you.  I’m going to break down my personal business model so that you can make the decision whether what I’m doing is right for you.  Anyone could do it, but it’s going to take a time commitment.  It could take you 10 years before you can quit your job, I just want to be upfront here so there’s no confusion that you have to put it in the work.  This is after all not the lottery.  Here goes what I’m doing and how you can get in on it.

The Problem

So you have a job, and you’re pulling in money.  That’s a good thing.  The problem is your working for someone else, making someone else rich.  When you’re paid what your worth, it’s going to be a heck of a lot more than minimum wage.  If you can make $1,000 a month at your job, then don’t you think you could make at least that much out there on your own?

The problem could be with the amount of money your making, or it could be your desire to be your own boss.  It could be that you want to write for a living.  It could be that you want more influence and to have an impact on the world.  It could be that you want to grow personally and professionally.  It could be that you want to expand your life and have more connections with people all over the world.  The problem is you want these things but your not getting them at your current 9-5 job.

Maybe you don’t even want to quit your job because you love it, but want to add additional income to your life.

Whatever the case, I believe I have found the solution.

The Solution

The solution is sounds simple.  Start your own business.

Starting your own business can be harder than working for someone else.  Everything is all on you.  This should not deter you from starting.  Just think how much money you could make if you were the one keeping all the profits.  Do you think you could make 4 times as much working for yourself as you do working at your job?  I do.  That would make money a non issue and your lifestyle would benefit tremendously.  I just look at it as more work, and if your a good worker, then starting a business should go great for you.  I find that a positive, prosperous frame of mind is important.  Take a can do attitude, and take action, because it’s going to be a lot of work.

When I find myself thinking how hard it is, I think of the benefits my work could bring.  Everything is taken care of and I get to spend time with my family.  Plus when it’s your own business, you are in charge of your own self.  No one gets to tell you what to do.  You decide what to do.  The secret is being good at deciding what to do.  This brings me to what I’ve decided to do, that anyone could also do for themselves too.

Building A Great Email List = Building A Great Business

Yes, we are talking about business.  That means putting money in your pocket.  And if you are going to build a business you may as well build a great one.  The cheapest and best way I’ve found to build a business is to build an email list.

This coming from a guy who spent over $5,000 to learn how to build a network marketing business.

That venture was a failure and I didn’t make any money at all, but I learned a great deal.  What I’ve found is a sustainable business model that anyone with a 9-5 could buy every month, for cheap, and take the time and work to build a business over 10 years.  Who knows, you might even do it in 5.  The cheap thing I’m talking about buying is a domain, hosting, and an email list.  The three things you need to start building your business.  I say the email list is so important because those are the people that you have the best chance of serving in a meaningful way.  The better you can serve your list, the better chances you stand of doing business with them.

So you have a fighting chance.

The beauty of building your business around your email list is that it’s so inexpensive.  You get to build an entire brand around $40 a month.  If your working even part time you should be able to afford this.  It’s really an investment in yourself.  With time and effort it could end up paying off for you.

The Strategy Of Building A Great Business Around A Great Email List

Up to this point in my research what I’ve discovered is the process of building a business online.  Again, it takes time and effort but the rewards are great.  My strategy is simple and it’s a result of my progress.

Basically, I write blog posts.  I also comment on other blogs.  Sometimes I engage on social media and forums.  I look out for websites I can guest post on.  I email my list twice a month.  I update my freebie, continually improving my lead magnet to up conversion rates, and then I build a relationship with my email list by sending them the new e book as well.  My list gets V.I.P. treatment when it comes to me releasing new and better content.  In this way I feel good about eventually selling them something because I’ve put in work to serve them.  Not that I’m not already selling.  Obviously, there is Convertkit.

I build a great email list.  I do this by sending them short emails highlighting the best work I’ve come up with recently.  It’s good because my work only gets better with time, as we all age like fine wines.  So you can rest assured that with each subscriber, you’re going to be able to serve them better and better.

What You’re Selling

If you want to break it down into a low cost business model, from my experience, I’m finding that Convertkit is the best way you can make money online, from your content marketing.

If you’re like me you’ll think that everyone can and should blog, and if they want to build a business from it, they are going to need an email list provider.  That’s where Convertkit comes in.  The beauty of it is that for each monthly membership you sell you get at least $8, more if they have a lot of subscribers.  That’s each and every month for as long as they are a member.  If they are in the game long term, talking 10 years or more, think how much money you will get paid for each and every member you sign up.  The harder you work, the faster you’ll be able to retire from the 9-5, and travel and live your dream life.  Not saying all this could be done with only 112 memberships sold, but you would get yourself a $1,000 a month income.

Just think what you could do with another $1,000 MONTHLY income.  That’s money coming in EVERY month, something you can count on to be there each and every month.  All it takes it you spreading your vision and your mission and your message everyday.  You could get a membership at any point in time.  Then you’d be making your first monthly income off your blog, and the sky is the limit from there.

With Convertkit we’re just talking ONE stream of income.  You could do a lot of things to monetize your blog.  This is just one way you could get a predictable monthly income from your blog.  If you wanted to launch an eBook to your list, then you might bring in a couple thousand dollars off your launch if your lucky.  You’d have to keep writing the eBooks and freshening them up if you wanted to keep your income coming in.  So writing eBooks really isn’t passive income, but if you have the writing gene, it might be something you want to spend some time on.

If you want to know how to profit off your blog, try my email list out for size and let me know what you think about the experience.

I can tell you about the low cost business model that you can use to escape the 9-5.  That is selling Convertkit and using Adsense to collect your first monies.  I can tell you how to treat the list you do have, and that is like gold.  The low cost business model is just that, it’s low cost.  For $40 a month you could have a business going and you could be collecting email addresses.  Talk about being able to keep the lights on.  You could work a part time job and be able to pay for your business for the rest of your life.  I’m excited to work my job tomorrow just so I can have the right to blog.  What are you going to do with your time that could lead to more income?

Write Your First E Book

How To Write An E Book

Write Your First E Book

Writer Extraordinaire

The purpose of this post is to help you write an e book.  Whatever phase your in, writing an e book can be fun.  I like to write short freebies for my list and I find it to be great practice for the real thing when I’m collecting money for my e books.  I am always in the process of writing something, whether it’s my blog, an e book, poetry, songs, or just my journal, so I would be someone who could tell you how to break out of that nasty writers block and do it for the bliss of it.

Of course we want to move past the hobby aspect of blogging and writing and become an expert professional.  We want to be paid.  So we are going to have to solve problems.  That’s what your e book should do for your readers.  It should solve a problem for them in a quick way and make their life better.  Part of the beauty of this process is that you can do it all from home.  You don’t have to leave the house, except for the events.  Just imagine collecting money in your pajamas.

Not that you’d always be wearing pajamas.  You might sometimes be dressed in pants and a nice shirt.  Smelling good.  Feeling good.  Feeling like you could in fact be your own boss and explode your income to heights it’s never been before.  What would the e book look like if you felt that way as you wrote it.

Here’s something that might help you.  Before you write your e book, take 15 minutes and visualize solving a problem with your e book.  Take that time and really see what it looks like to have an e book that your subscribers will get a lot of value from and just do that for 15 minutes prior to writing.  Try it Today!

Back to the subject of how to write an e book, like I’ve already said, you’ve got to solve a problem.  The value for the reader is that you’ve helped them fix their life.  Help somebody fix their life, or add to their life, will gain you more and more subscribers.  Once you get to that 1,000 subscriber mark, you’ll be ready to make your first product launch, and you’ll find out just how much money you can make in your first month.

Then you’ll be writing e books for money, and not just to give more of your valuable content away for free.  Soon, if you choose this path, you’ll be working from home full time, making a full time income.  Nothing succeeds like success and your made of it.  You are after all capable of making money off your blog, so there should be nothing stopping you from making 4 times as much off your own business as you do working for someone else.  The question is would you be satisfied with that, or would you want more?

I’ve been reading Catherine Ponder’s “Dynamic Laws Of Prosperity” and in it one of the affirmations is the following:

EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE PROSPERS ME NOW!

Something I wanted to end this post with, maybe try using it when your relaxing in your down time.

Don’t hold back, go ahead and subscribe!  If worst comes to worst, and you don’t like the emails, you can always unsubscribe and it never cost you anything.  Unlike with the lottery, you can’t lose.  Go ahead and do it, you have nothing to do but gain.

Here is a short poem to get you started:

Write, write, you know you can do it

You have valuable things to say

No one and nothing can stop you from writing

Go forth and command your empire from your home

It’s a solo deal

You are on your own a lot

That’s okay, because you network at events

At least, you go to events, and see who you talk to

Maybe they’ll one day be subscribers

Maybe one day you’ll have 1,000 people on your list

The chances of that happening are better than winning the lottery

Thank God for our day jobs

Even though we want to be our own boss

That’s what pays for our lives

Thank God for good days at work

And Thank God for blogging and all of it’s wonders

It’s a beautiful thing to be a blogger

And do creative work

Any creative work will do, it doesn’t have to be blogging

That’s it for the poem.

I just wanted to write this short post to let you know that there will be another e book coming out that’s going to top the one I already have, but you can get both by signing up for my email list now.  We talking all free content, about some of life’s greatest things.  Your welcome to join anytime.  Do so now!

Email lists Rock!

The Benefit of Building an Email List

Email lists Rock!

This is going to change your life!

The biggest benefit of building an email list as a business owner is how easy it is for you to touch lives.  Your people are only an email away.  Even when your starting small with say only a couple subscribers, maybe people you already know, it’s still valuable to get them talking about you, and giving them something valuable in your work.  A great way to do that is to send them an email every once in a while.

When you are solving problems that will help others to help themselves you are being a service to the human race, to all things really.  You are doing for others and when you can love doing it for free just imagine how you’ll feel when you get paid to do it.

And let me be honest here that when you are trying to make a living, money is something that might be closer to the front rather than the back of your mind.  Especially if you’ve got a family.  But you’ve got to understand that this blogging thing isn’t a get rich quick scheme.  It takes years to make money, and you’ve got to be really really good.  So investing in creating a blogging income is a long term strategy and you probably won’t be making a living doing it any time soon.  That doesn’t mean you can’t take more action and try to make your first blogging windfall come faster.  You gotta figure that if you wait until you have 1,000 subscribers, your bound to sell something on your first launch.  Even if it’s only one copy, you’ve still got to sell something if you have 1,000 people on your list.  It’s probably going to be a disappointing number, maybe more than one, but less than 100, but it will be something you can work on and grow.  The blogging business is easy enough to do for a lifetime, without ever having to retire from it.  Why would you ever retire anyways?  It’s fun!  And it’s not hard on your body, all you are doing is typing.  In other words, you could be 99 years old and still able to blog everyday if you wanted to.

So why all the talk about the money anyways.  Blogging is fun, and it makes your life better.  It makes your relationships better.  Building an email list on top of blogging just makes blogging that much better.  Especially if you plan to make money off your blog.  Everyone says it, “the money is in the list”.

So when you get subscribers, that is leading you down a road where people pay you for your products.  You don’t have to start with a $1,000 product.  Start small, something like $20.  That’s a middle ground price range for a good e book, and with a list of 1,000 subscribers, if you did well, you might make a couple hundred dollars off your first launch.  That’s money you didn’t have before, and even better it’s earned with your very own online business.

The money would be nice, but the biggest benefit of building an email list is your opportunity to be of service to other people.  To help other people.  When you work with that in mind, the future is bright.
