Here is a short poem to get you started:

Write, write, you know you can do it

You have valuable things to say

No one and nothing can stop you from writing

Go forth and command your empire from your home

It’s a solo deal

You are on your own a lot

That’s okay, because you network at events

At least, you go to events, and see who you talk to

Maybe they’ll one day be subscribers

Maybe one day you’ll have 1,000 people on your list

The chances of that happening are better than winning the lottery

Thank God for our day jobs

Even though we want to be our own boss

That’s what pays for our lives

Thank God for good days at work

And Thank God for blogging and all of it’s wonders

It’s a beautiful thing to be a blogger

And do creative work

Any creative work will do, it doesn’t have to be blogging

That’s it for the poem.

I just wanted to write this short post to let you know that there will be another e book coming out that’s going to top the one I already have, but you can get both by signing up for my email list now.  We talking all free content, about some of life’s greatest things.  Your welcome to join anytime.  Do so now!

Money and Love and Blogging

Blogging For The Money and The Love Of It

Money and Love and Blogging

Blogging For The Money And The Love

I got 4 more subscribers in the matter of two days.  Blogging for the money and the love of it is definitely the way to go.  I’ve also made $.03 in the last week from ads.  I know it’s not much but it’s my first earnings off this blog in it’s almost 2 year existence so it’s really a milestone.

My message here is that no matter how small your results, if your in the game, your doing something.  It makes you feel good that your being a service to people with your own personal brand.  It’s YOU they are buying when they sign up for your email list and click your ads.  In short order they are going to be buying your ebooks and courses from your webinars.  I say it now, my goal is to have a full time income by the year 2020.  That gives me almost another 2 years to get my act together.  Don’t get me wrong though, if you don’t have a blog yet, you can still get a lot out of this.

I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now and I can tell you when your doing it for the love of it, it’s a lot better than slaving away at it.  You probably already apply love into your job, why not do it with a blog too?  You’d be building a personal brand, and your growth has only one direction to go, especially when your starting, and that is up.  Plus when your building an email list, you get real world people on there and you can see how you treat them now that they are on your list.  You better be good.

When you are talking about your email list out in the world you are opening up channels to get subscribers.  It doesn’t have to rely on the internet alone.  It could be the people at your job, or a gas station attendant.  It could be a salesperson.  The value here is that you are doing it for the love of building relationships with people by serving them valuable material.  You are an expert at you so there is nothing stopping you from being a valuable part of someone’s life.  And this really goes beyond blogging as well.  You could do it in anything.  Any job.  You are still you at any job, even if it’s blogging, and you can be of service to people.  I’m simply saying with blogging, it’s more of a thrill.  Especially if your a little introverted.  Not saying it doesn’t work too for outgoing people.

When your blogging for the love of it, the money comes second.  It’s a thrill when you get it, but that’s not the reason your doing it.  For me it’s all about being of service to other people.  I just want to inspire them to start blogs of their own, make money, and partly live to love their blogs and the relationships it brings.  Maybe if you don’t have a lot of relationships it would be nice to have a giant email list you could email whenever you wanted.  Just to talk to somebody.  I bet that would bring enjoyment.  Plus if your good your going to be able to make money from blogging.

Which is what I wanted to talk about next, is the money part of blogging.  I mentioned I made $.03.  I’ll tell you exactly how I did it and why it’s just that beautiful.

I had tried selling Amazon books on my site, but the problem with Amazon is there is a time limit for you to sell 3 books or you can’t be an affiliate.  I think they give you something like 6 months to reach that goal or they don’t let you stay open.  I could still sell some books because my time limit hasn’t been reached yet, but I like what I’m doing now as there is no time limit and I’m already seeing results.

That method of monetization is Google Adsense.  That’s where my money is coming from right now, but I know it’s going to be a pittance when I start selling ebooks and courses off webinars and start earning real money.  Right now I’m not walking that walk so let me talk to you about what I am doing, which is earning pennies, which may be enough to get you excited, but there’s more to be hoped for.  Maybe that is a poverty mentality that is holding me back from success.  Maybe I should affirm that I am a professional blogger and get all the money I could ever want.

I can tell you going from nothing to $.03 in a week is still exciting.  It’s progress.  I’m moving in the right direction.  I’m also in the process of getting some of my own ads put out there on Google to drive traffic to my landing page, where I’ll get subscribers.  I’ll let you know how that goes, I’m sure that I’ll get a result, I just don’t know anything other than it’s going to be good.  You’ll be sure to find out when you subscribe to my email list, if your not on it already.  Do that now. I am a Convertkit affiliate and there is a link in my free ebook to buy so I might get lucky and score some referrals AND email subscribers off my ad.  It’s all very exciting and I want you to be in on it.  When your on my list I’ll also let you know when I reach the $100 threshold in Adsense and they will actually pay me.  And you can learn how to do the exact same thing from being on my email list.

I would also love to hear your comments, please leave them below.  What are you in love with?  What do you do more for the love of it, than for the money?  I’d love to hear it.

You’ve Got More Subscribers!

This is a personal blog.  It is also a business blog.  I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately.  This blog is going to be taking on new life.

Some of what I’ve discovered is that when you’re selling something (which if your blog is a business you are going to be doing) you’ve got to drop your ego and become centered around what your prospect wants.  What do the people you are selling to want?  This is what I’m thinking of when I write about getting 3 more email subscribers on my list.

This, as I mentioned, is a personal blog.  It is also about business.  So I wanted to share my personal journey about my business with you by letting you in on a little secret.  I got 3 more subscribers.  It was a matter of me putting myself out there with video, and showing it to someone I knew.  A coworker.  She signed up on the spot, and on top of that she also shared my video with her social network and I got 2 more subscribers!  Talk about progress!  When your list is only at 8 people and you get 3 more in a matter of a few days, it feels incredible.  When it took you a year and 9 months to get 8 people, you cheer when you get three in a row.  It may sound like I’m not getting results with the numbers I’m working with but if your thinking that you’re missing the big picture.

I am producing a result with this blog, and if your on my email list, your taking the journey with me.  Just know by me sharing my personal story my goal is to help you blog.  If I can do it, surely you can do it too.  My main message I’m going to be coming across with is that there is no better way to develop personally and professionally than by blogging.   That’s just what I believe when I think over what can be done for personal and professional development.  I’d love to hear what you think about that in the comments of this post.  That is if they are still open when you get here.  Although there are other ways of contacting me if you would like me to hear what you have to say.  I’m open to that.

To be honest I wish I would have asked my coworker that signed up if it would be alright if I used her name in this post (sort of to make her famous) before I started writing it.  I don’t like using people’s names, I’ve never said where I worked other than it was a ham store, and I like protecting people’s identities.  But as I’ve said, I’ve been doing some reading, and what I’ve found is that your readers like it when you make them famous by writing about them on your blog.  It adds to their own personal brand.  It’s valuable to them.  I don’t think I would do it without asking them first though.  Suffice to say, I have another subscriber and she brought 2 more people along with her.  It’s a small victory, but a victory non the less.

I know you’ve got to be thinking to yourself, Jess, if you’ve been blogging for almost 2 years and you’ve only got 11 subscribers then what chance do I have of starting a blogging business and becoming profitable now?

Well, I’m not claiming to know all the answers, but I will tell you that blogging is a long term game.  Most blogs aren’t profitable until they are almost 3 years old (according to Darren Rowse of Problogger).  When blogs do make money though, they can make a million dollars a year like Pat Flynn does at SmartPassiveIncome.com.  It’s all in how well you do it.

You and I may never make a million dollars a year spreading our own unique message to the world.  But we could make something!  I’ve heard on a podcast that you can consider every subscriber you have to be worth one dollar a month.  If you get into that game, every subscriber you get is worth something to you, so each one, even when you only have a few, is awesome to get.   It’s a marvelous game.  This is part of the beauty of blogging.  This is part of my message that blogging is the best way to develop personally and professionally.  It’s fulfilling and it’s all yours.  It’s your very own business.

So even if your a schizophrenic, or you just have challenges with life, you can build a business at your own pace, be it working 4 hours a day, or just 4 hours a week on your blog, spreading your message (of course with copious amounts of love in it) to the entire world and live a fulfilling life.  The best part is it only costs $40 a month to do so.  Get hosting through GoDaddy and get your email list from Convertkit.  That’s all you need maybe other than a bumper sticker and some business cards that have your website on it.  Do the rest for free on social media.  Bada bing bada boom, you’ve got yourself business to work on.

Part of the beauty of blogging being the best way to develop personally and professionally is you can do it everyday in every way.  You can do it while your working your day job by talking to the people you work with about it!  I would advise you not talk about it to the point where you are annoying them, but you can definitely creatively work it into some conversations here and there and get real time feedback on how to make your work better (that is if their feedback is constructive).

If you are finding yourself wanting to blog right now, to blog your message to the world, I can say I’ve done my job.  I’ve got myself 3 more subscribers.  How many subscribers do you think you could get in your first week after just a few blog posts, just telling the people you work with about it?  Maybe it’s a lot more than I can do.

I would love to hear your feedback on how many people you think you could get in your first week.  All you have to do to get in instant contact with me is to subscribe to my email list.  You’ll get a free ebook, and updates to this site.  Be sure you subscribe and if you ever have anything to say just reply to one of the emails I send you.  I’ll be sure to write back.

Yours Truly,

Jesse Creel
